Anna Aigner received her first instrumental lessons at the age of five at the Upper Austrian State Music School from Andrea Muscas. From 2010, she received lessons from Andreas Pözlberger at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz in the preparatory programme and in 2016 transferred to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the preparatory programme with Maria Sellner. After graduating from the Musikgymnasium in Linz, she studied concert music with Peter Somodari, where she specialised in contemporary music in the second stage of her studies and graduated with distinction in 2024. Parallel to her studies in Vienna, she completed postgraduate studies with Romain Garioud at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt in 2023/24.
Anna is particularly interested in contemporary compositions. In 2021, she took part in the International Summer Course for New Music in Darmstadt and received lessons from Lucas Fels. She received further musical inspiration from Rudolf Leopold, Maria Kliegel, Jan Ickert, Wen-Sinn Yang, Andreas Lindenbaum and Reinhard Latzko.
Anna Aigner has been a member of the Live Music Now - Yehudi Menuhin Vienna Foundation since 2017. In 2019, she won first prize at the international music competition ‘Città di Palmanova’ in Italy and received an award at the ‘BePhilharmonic - Strauss Music Contest’ of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016 as well as the Dr Josef Ratzenböck Scholarship.
Together with pianist Erika Spring, she founded the ‘Duo Veris’ and they won the second prize for free improvisation in the ‘Impro Parcours #4’ competition in 2024.
She regularly performs concerts in Germany and abroad with her ensembles ‘Nouveau Pastell’, ‘Trio Paidia’ and ‘Divinerinnen’. From 2022 to 2023, Anna Aigner had a temporary contract with Vereinigte Bühnen Wien.
In addition to her stage presence, Anna Aigner has also participated in several CD releases, including recordings with the ‘Klangkollektiv Wien’ (including Le Nozze di Figaro Overture, Symphonie Nr. 41 & 101 sowie Ludwig van Beethoven Quartette op. 131 & 135), the ensemble „Divinerinnen“ (including the albums Tanz' von innen und divinerisch!) and with the Austrian singer Sigrid Horn (Nest).
